Creation of new materials for cardiology and brachytherapy
Using physical methods of deep metal purification from impurities and severe deformation of billets, Papirov's laboratory has developed new magnesium alloys with high strength and plasticity for manufacture of coronary stents and bio-soluble implants for medicine. The results of comprehensive tests of these materials in vitro and in vivo are presented. Flexible radioactive sources for intravascular irradiation are described. Numerous examples of instruments produced by the laboratory (needles, applicators) for brachytherapy are presented.
